Crossley’s Garage Roadmap to getting back on the road!
With the UK Government releasing a roadmap out of the Covid 19 lockdown, we thought it would be a great time for us to reveal our roadmap to getting back on the road!
Not only has it just been the winter months, but a lot of people have also neglected their vehicles during these unfortunate times. Rather than getting yourself into a predicament and causing further issues down the line, here are our tips to make sure your car is ready and all the checks you can do to be sure your all set for when the lockdown ends.
Check your vehicle battery life
As you are probably aware, car batteries can fail on an array of reasons, simply being one of the most common issues represented in all vehicles. One main factor that impacts this is the cold weather. It is very apparent that in the UK it has had its fair share of cold wintery days this year already and in addition to this, many people have left their vehicles just sitting around or getting far less use than they usually would.
This is a double negative, a disowned battery and cold weather.
It’s an essential time to make sure your battery is working well including holding its charge. It would be a great idea to get your vehicle going and drive for at least 30 minutes to charge some energy into the battery cells ensuring a positive outcome.
If you are coming across issues with your battery like a bad charge hold or even not turning on, please feel free to get in touch with our team and we would be more than happy to help assist with any issues that may be represented.
Check your vehicle fluids
Similar to your battery and the situation of being sat around. Your car is subject to work with sufficient fluids based on your vehicle. If you are not clued up on the correct fluids needed in your vehicle then please do come and visit us at one of your local Crossleys garages so we can advise and help service your vehicle ready for your journeys ahead.
Check your bulbs!
If you haven’t been on the road in a while your vehicle could quite simply be deteriorating. It would be great to get out and check all your bulbs are working ready for your dark drives ahead.
